The closest shopping center to the Barceloneta is the Maremagnum and in the other direction north is the El Centre de la Vila near the Icaria Yelmo movie theaters with their movies in English and Spanish subtitles. Next to our Selva de Mar apartments, you have the Diagonal Mar Center

If you want to see a movie in English, the following theater, Icaria Yelmo Cineplex, plays most of its showings in V.O.

(Versión Original = Original Version) and is only 1 metro stop away or a 15-minute walk:   

Local Nightlife

Habana-Barcelona (HBN-BCN) is a Cuban restaurant-nightclub with excellent mojitos and a dance floor guaranteed to make you sweat. 

Bar Daguiri is owned by a New Zealander who came as a tourist and decided to stay.  With a view of the beach, this bar is a 5-minute walk

from all our Barceloneta apartments. You will find international press and a free wireless Internet connection. 

El Vaso de Oro (The Cup of Gold) is where we sometimes go for lunch on Mondays.  This beer bar (cerverceria) serves a beer they have

brewed specially for them.  The tapas are outrageously good and outrageously expensive.  The place is very small and does not offer sitting

but an experience not to be missed nonetheless.

Want to bicycle around town?  

We have a special relationship with Naturbike, true cycling professionals.  They can help you if you want to plan a group cycling tour in

and around Barcelona.  There a number of 1-day and multiple-day routes close to Barcelona.  

The Barcelona Aquarium is a 10-minute from our Barceloneta apartments. 

Just a few meters from Maremagnum are the small tour boats, Las Golondrinas (The Swallows), that take you around the old Port Vell.

The nearest saltwater spa is the Maritim Esport Talassa only a 10-minute walk from our apartment and office

Nearby movie theaters: 

we are lucky to be close to one of the few movie cineplexes that shows all their movies in the original version (here in Spain known as V.O. “Versión Original”). 

As such, if you want to see a movie in English, the Icaria Yelmo Cineplex is one metro stop away or a 20-minute walk.   

The Imax is a large format and 3D cinema next to the Maremagnum shopping center and the Acquarium.  Visit the web to see what is playing when you arrive.

Where to eat in the Barceloneta

This restaurant is close to the office, at the top of a skycar tower 75 metres aboveground.  We haven´t tried it, but the view alone surely makes it worth your while.
